Bellow are two texts: Text 1 and Text 2.
Read text 1 and then answer questions 1–4.

Text 1

A YOUNG CHESS CHAMPION*

I Tani lives in New York City. When he was
six years old, he saw a chess game for the first
time in his life. He loved the game and decided to
learn how to play it. His dream was to become the
5 youngest chess champion in the world.
II However, it was not easy for Tani to join a
chess club. His family was very poor. His parents
couldn't pay for chess lessons. Fortunately, the
teacher accepted him to the chess club for free.
10 Tani worked very hard to become a good player.
He practiced for many hours every day after
school. At the age of eight, Tani became the chess champion of New York. Very soon, he won
seven other important competitions in the United States.
III The story of the talented young player appeared on television and on the internet. He
15 became very famous. In 2020, Tani's story appeared in a book. You may also see his story in a
movie very soon.
