DESKS FOR EVERYONE

I In September 2020, the corona virus was all over the world. Schools were closed. Jimmy, a pupil
from the United States, started the school year with Zoom lessons, in bed. It was not comfortable to
learn like that. But he had no choice because he didn't have a desk.
II During that time, pupils who had no desks found different ways to study from home. For
5 example, they used the kitchen table or sat on the floor. It is not easy to study on Zoom, and it's even
more difficult when you don't have a desk.
III Jimmy's neighbor, Albert, thinks that desks are very important for children. So, he decided to
make desks for Jimmy and other children in the neighborhood. One of Albert's friends found wood
to make desks. Albert said, "These desks will help children succeed in school."
