MANDY GOES TO A PUZZLE COMPETITION

I Many people go to Spain to lie on a beach or
walk in the mountains. But last year, 3,000 people
went to Spain for a different reason. They went there
for a puzzle competition. In this competition, each
5 person did a puzzle with 500 pieces. The person who
finished first won 1,000 dollars.
II Mandy Gibson, a high school teacher from
England, went to this competition. She wanted to be
able to finish puzzles very fast. So she practiced for
10 many months before she went. At the competition, she finished the puzzle in one hour. However,
Mandy did not win the competition because the winner was much faster than she was. "I want to
win the competition next year," says Mandy. "But I need to practice a lot more."
III When Mandy went back to England, she decided to open a puzzle club in her school.
All the kids in the school who like puzzles go to this club. Mandy brings lots of puzzles to the club
15 from her home. "The kids usually do the puzzles with their friends," she says. "But when a puzzle
is difficult, I help them. Everyone enjoys this club."
