Read the following passage carefully and answer in ENGLISH. (25 points)

The Amazon Rainforest
I The Amazon rainforest is the biggest rainforest in the world. It covers 6.7 million km², which is twice as big as India. 60% of the Amazon rainforest is in Brazil. In the 1960s, trees in the rainforest started to be cut down, and this is still happening today. Around 1.4 billion trees in the rainforest are cut down every year. The trees are cut down because people want to use the land for farming and raising animals.
II Many special kinds of animals live in the Amazon rainforest. For example, the giant otter is an animal that can be found near the Amazon River. Today there are only 2,000-5,000 giant otters left. Another special animal is the gray woolly monkey, which lives in high places in the forest. Today the number of gray woolly monkeys is only half of what it was 50 years ago.
III Researchers have found that because there are fewer trees in the rainforest, there is less rainfall in the forest area and there are higher levels of harmful CO₂ in air. We must stop cutting down trees in the Amazon rainforest and protect this special treasure.
